One can't beat the low levels, and that just what we did when poor Vie had to bow out. Tya, Cjm (his alt, rather), Shasaa and Gel hit the woods outside San d'Oria with the wierdest oddball collection of jobs I've seen yet :) Maddness ensued, many rarhabs (and Tarus) died, until Cjm sighted a sheep in the distance... and charged! Level 3 Sheep Hunters, Huzzah! It became the them of the evening -big grin-.
Had fun, hope Vie can find some peace...

Tyasa long ago sold the quested Ninja scrolls for gil to fund Tya's MNK addiction, so when someone suggest Tya level NIN a while back (think it was Kriss), Tya just started to cry. Well, what the hey, Gel's never gonna level NIN himself and still hasn't done the quests--I told Tya that if Tya helped get Gel's Norg faction up to speed I'd do the quests and give Tya the scrolls.

Huzzah! Had a fun (and long) night in Valkrun Dunes this eve. Got the entire static to 20 -blink---thanks to the gang (particularly Krisslon and Kaiiul) for staying up late to catch Gel up.
We got on station a bit late--didn't really get started until 8ish, but we left the box swinging. Gobis, snippers, pugils--GAWD the pugils, with their pesky Water Wall and Water Shield, proved to be quite challenging. At one point it was a notch too much and we lost Krisslon and Doorn. Had a short night (pardon the pun-taru). Entered the game and wandered aimlessly for a while as various and sundry were preoccupied with their projects. Tya had made PUP 10 the other day and needed to do the footwork for the puppet upgrade, so when that was done we eventualloy decided to try to level the buddies while farming for gil in Castle Oztragwhatzit at the spot Cjm had showed us some weeks ago.

Started groggily, but things soon picked up. After some taxi-work to help Cjm (he-s back, yay!) help a couple of shellmates with their Rank 5 Magicite stuff, Gel met up with Tyasa in Bastok. Tya'd been fiddling with PUP, deciding that it was much more interesting once you added a few attachments to your puppet to make it go...

A sad day. A bad day. A day one wishes they'd slept through.
We recieved word through Tyasa that long missing Qyn's mother had passed away. I think I understand what she's going through--my father passed away Feburary last--but the experience is different for everyone. All any of us can do is offer our deep sorrow, and wish her well and a heart full of hope.

Today we spent the evening with our buddies--the in-game NPCs you can call and cultivate. Cjm, Tyasa and Gelubii first his Promy-Holla to do the quest that recharges your Tactics pearl (a means of keeping the buddy out longer--the whole night, in this case). While there, we had something like seven or eight Recollection drops -boggle-. When you're not lookin' for thing...

Huzzah! Today was Coffer day--or rather, coffer key day, where folks went hunting the poor unsuspecting critters that carry coffer keys for various zones. These keys are needed for Artifact armor (AFs), and are... well... rare.
Spent all day gettin' keys for Krisslon (from Ifrit's Cookin' Pot), Tyasa and Thornystruggle (from Crawler's Furball). I'd never seen Ifrit's Pot before--Wow! Salsa everywhere, it bubbles from the ground and glows, even. And man is it HOT. So hot ya can't even dip, t ... read more

Had a fun night in the Dunes this eve with our first outing of a new static group. Krisslon (PLD/WAR), Doorn (SAM/WAR), Cjm (COR/THF), Tyasa (WHM/BLM), and special guest BRD Sepatta teamed up with Gellubi (PUP/THF) and sturdy sidekick Mashira in the Dunes of DOOM. Had an enjoyable evening helping Peeper, Xzaver, Sakamaku and Tyasa level their low teen jobs in Baribaribubu-whazit Peninsula this eve. We joked in /l how Gel, while not a "P"ower Leveler, was more a "M"oderate Lever. So Moderate Level I did, and the gang generally got two apiece.

A friend (Bamuk/Eztar) reminded me I haven't written any gaming journals for a long while (I was suprised anyone actually read them -laugh-). My apologies--the reasons for the lapse are ongoing, but I will try to be more vigilant.
Huzzah! With help (help heck, they DID it) from Viegato, Krisslon, Peeper and Xzaver, Cjm, Tyasa and Gelubii all achieved Rank 6 today! The Shadow Lord fell (again--twice, no three times) and we were rewarded with plot revelations and lengthy cutscenes.

Huzzah! We got Qyn's last promy for a while done (at last--took a few attempts). Had a pretty good showing this time, too: Qyn, Malmagor, Cjm, Krisslon, Sassy, Kaiiul, Tyasa and Gelubii braved Mea for the... sheesh, I've lost count. Anyways, our entry that eve did not bode well...

Fun day. We (-gasp-!) went out and leveled our 40ish jobs. Had a group with NotDoorn, Cjm, Malmagor, Tyasa, Gelubii and special guest PL Krisslon in Quicksand Caverns this afternoon. We had TDC's, MDC's, GDC's... you name it! Just like old times -big grin-.

Being a work night for most, we got started late (and played late, too). With so many away on vacation or work trips this week it was pretty quiet in the LS... so much so that we only managed to gather a group of five peeps for Tserof and Qyn's last Promy. Another fun one! Got Kitras and Zyre their last Promy, though it most of the day to do -chuckle-. Cjm took them on the Tavnaziwhazit Safehold tour off we went home!
During the day, Zyre popped off for a bit to fix lunch--mashed potatoes! This sparked much talk of food, so much so that I ended up fixing some potato flavored cheese sause... erm... mashed potatoes with cheese for dinner after the Promy fight -laugh-. Yum!

RL's been... well, you know, so I've missed a couple journal entries. Basically, we've Promied! Boy, have we promied -grin-. We managed to get Capo and Jirel all the way to Travnaziwhazit Stronghold, and Kitras and Kyre 2/3 of the way there. Huzzah!

Since many of us had the day off (punctuated by beeping and phone calls for those of us on-call -chuckle-), we had an extended Zen Day! We began by finishing up Tserof's Rank 5 stuff--Airship time! How to describe the events of today? It almost felt like a Christmas present wrapped in a hug--I was personally moved by the outcome, as I think many were.
Square Enix, the makers of FFXI, have a procedure to allow players to marry one another in game. For whatever reason--and it's not important now--that procedure broke down. We eventually landed on Sassy's last Promy run... until we realized we needed to go farm animas. Productive day! The day began with a powerleveling sessions--Verben, a new member of the linkshell, was gonna get to 10, gosh dernit! We ended up with a most impressive PL party--Verben grouped with Krisslon (NIN) and Papapa (BLM), being powerleveled by Cjm (WHM), Gelubii (WHM) and later Nikka (WHM) with Kaiiul running interfearance. Huzzah! Qyn made 30 plus buffer despite the mean 'ole Gobis ("Vengance! KAAAAAHHHHN!"). Cjm, Tyasa, Qyn, Kaiiul and Gelubii fought plants and armor crafters in the jungles just outside Khazam. We got the primo camp spot on account of everyone else doin' things with they high levels (I guess).
